Spruce Smoothie Series: Smoothies you can make in India - Spinach, Cucumber & Apple Smoothie
Blending up a smoothie is a quick and easy way to make a healthy snack. They’re convenient; they take all but 5 minutes to make, and you can carry them to work with you. Just put them in a fridge and take them out whenever you’re feeling hungry, and you’ve got a cold, refreshing drink ready to go. Here’s the catch; most smoothie recipes you come across online have ingredients you don’t find easily available in your local market.
So we’ve come up with a series of smoothie recipes with ingredients you can find in India! Here’s the first entry:
Spinach, Cucumber and Apple Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of Spinach
- 1/2 frozen cucumber
- 1/2 frozen apple
- 1 cups milk
- 1 spoons honey (Add more if you’d like)
Bonus: Add a spoon of chia seeds to your drink for more consistency and a dose of Omega 3!
Serving Size: This should give you 2 smoothie servings
Pointers:
- If you’ve got a strong blender you can keep the skin of the apple and cucumber on. Saves time and adds nutrition!
- Dice the cucumber and apple and leave it in your freezer overnight. Frozen fruits and veggies will make your smoothie thicker and creamier. You can add ice instead, but this will water your smoothie down.
- Try this recipe with almond milk if you can get your hands on some!

- Metabolism
- Hydration
You have no excuse! This is so easy, so quick and so accessible that the minimum effort required to put your chappals on and walk to the nearest sabzi market is totally worth it.
